HEAD OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND OPERATIONS
Job Description
We are looking for a Head of Infrastructure and Operations for our offices in Madrid.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information systems, business administration, a related field or equivalent work experience
• Fifteen or more years of IT experience
• Five or more years of leadership responsibilities, including strategy, budgeting, policy setting and resourcing.
• More than five years working with Microsoft’s Cloud suite: Azure, Microsoft 365, Teams, InTune, etc.
• Practical experience in outsourcing services, from conceptualisation, tendering, implementation, transition and monitoring.
• ITIL certifications and practical experience in ITIL implementation (from Service Catalogue onwards) and metrics monitoring.
• Given the growth of the firm, it is essential to demonstrate experience in facility management, and specifically in setting up new offices.
• Demonstrable project tracking skills, given that the firm has numerous transformation initiatives to be delivered in the coming years.
• Demonstrable experience in implementing ITSM tools (in particular ServiceNow).
• Demonstrable experience and leadership in cloud adoption, including establishing governance mechanisms, delivering migration projects and modifying the I&O target operating model.
• Demonstrable experience in the most efficient communications and back-up architectures for the firm’s current and future international footprint.
• Demonstrable experience in operations monitoring and incident response.
• Experience in setting up and managing a Disaster Recovery (DR) infrastructure.
• Expertise in the creation of self-service mechanisms to streamline infrastructure provision and ongoing management, as well as automation for the management of remote professionals (robotisation, MDM, modern workplace etc.).
• Application of I&O capabilities to meet regulatory or statutory compliance requirements.
• Development of governance practices to track and measure the quality of services, and maintain service improvement plans.
• Exceptional leadership, influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to develop and communicate an I&O vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns with IT and business strategy.
• Proactivity and self-assessment, soliciting feedback from others to improve performance.
• Excellent analytical skills, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution.
• Excellent communication skills (presentations to the Management Committee).
• Continuous drive for improvement, commitment and reliability.
• Experience in various organisations and international footprint.
Other requirements:
• Holding Project Management Certification (PMP, Six Sigma) would be an asset.
• ISO27001 training and knowledge of ENS would be an asset.
• Knowledge of Cloud service offerings.
• Recognised technical certifications in IT, and in particular those related to Azure Cloud services.
• Given that one of the firm’s growth areas is Artificial Intelligence, knowledge of the models that support it would be considered an asset.
Functions
• Establishing the mission, vision and strategy of the I&O organisation to maximise the success of the firm and the IT’s department’s initiatives.
• Introducing innovative and distinctive infrastructure and operations capabilities that enhance our overall competitive capabilities and increase the productivity of the firm’s professionals.
• Working with senior IT leaders on the portfolio of services and governance required to prioritise resources, including budget.
• Building successful relationships with other key IT and business stakeholders by developing a clear understanding of business needs, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring the cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs.
• Driving the alignment of I&O strategies with the organisation’s environmental, social and governance objectives.
• Developing and monitoring the annual I&O budget to ensure that it is consistent with the overall strategic objectives of IT and the firm and is met. Creating a culture of continuous cost optimisation.
• Defining, developing and managing a comprehensive and integrated IT Service Management (ITSM) landscape, based on ITIL processes, disciplines and best practice toolkits. This includes the delivery of a comprehensive IT asset management programme.
• Collaborating with the CISO to ensure that I&O contributes to, adopts and implements the security strategy.
• Operating a formal governance mechanism to establish and monitor effective controls for the processes and responsibilities of the I&O teams. Supporting periodic reviews by audit teams, compliance teams and other risk-related functions as required.
• Designing and developing a strong and diverse I&O leadership team, together with a reporting structure for the area.
• Improving IT resilience by executing strategies that improve reliability, tolerance and disaster recovery preparedness.
• Keeping track of trends and providing direction on which emerging technologies should be incorporated into I&O products and services to successfully deliver the overall IT strategy.
• Providing strategic direction and oversight for the full lifecycle of IT systems, working closely with peers, and identify where common approaches, solutions and shared platforms provided by I&O could drive efficiencies.
• Driving adoption of (and commitment to) service improvements through a programmatic approach to continuous improvement that also measures impact and shares results.
• Continually assessing the business value of I&O, including the use of metrics such as KPIs and OKRs.
