ACCOUNTANT - ACCOUNTING AREA LEADER
Job Description
We are seeking a Certified Public Accountant, preferably with a specialization in Taxation, to lead the accounting area by ensuring the planning, coordination, and monitoring of all accounting and tax processes within the organization, while guaranteeing compliance with current accounting, tax, and legal regulations. This role will be responsible for managing the accounting team, supervising the accuracy and timeliness of financial information, coordinating monthly and annual closings, overseeing compliance with tax obligations, ensuring the proper application of IFRS, optimizing processes, and administering and keeping accounting systems and software up to date.
The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of experience leading accounting areas and managing teams, with strong knowledge of tax regulations, IFRS, and accounting software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and experience in service-sector companies is highly valued.
Requirements
- Degree in Public Accounting; specialization in Taxation is desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading accounting areas and managing work teams.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and IFRS.
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Desirable experience in service-sector companies and ERP implementation.

Functions
- Lead and supervise the accounting team, ensuring the quality and timeliness of local and group financial reports.
- Lead and coordinate monthly and annual accounting closings, both individual and consolidated.
- Conduct tax planning for the companies in Colombia.
- Ensure compliance with tax obligations and the application of current regulations.
- Oversee the proper preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial statements under IFRS.
- Optimize accounting processes and propose improvements to strengthen financial management.
- Manage and keep accounting systems and software updated.
- Coordinate internal audit processes as well as local and group audits.
